you look on dismal days

rainbow you may see

in a dirty lump of coal

diamond there may be

oyster holds a pearl
Inside
its shell so tight

the sky displays its diamonds

you look up late at night
Mother
Earth’s greatest gifts
Are
there for you to share
And
come when you’re not looking
Or
believe they won’t be there
For
fate hides the answers
In
the most unlikely places

the most unexpected faces
